aidan, the performing artist

Aidan has always loved to move about to music. Recently he’s expressed an interest in taking dance lessons. He decided he wants to try ballet, so we signed him up and he starts next week. When this was filmed we just returned from the dance store with his new pair of ballet shoes. He felt like performing, so we grabbed the camera and this is what he did for us.

Hmm. I guess we should have gotten him tap shoes instead. Actually, tap dance might be on the horizon for him as well. Together we watched a clip of Gregory Hines dancing on YouTube; he’s been enamored with tap ever since. In the clip above, you can really seem him imitating some of the specific steps that we saw from Hines. Note the reference to Hines he makes, too, before beginning his dance. It’s really cute.

    Well, I must say that I am quite impressed with his talents. I like the Guitar playing but my favorite is the tap dancing also. He seems to enjoy this so much. I would love to see him doing the Irish Dance, what do you think? Keep up the good work of exposing him to all the arts, to see what his favorites are and what he will excel in.

    Great clips! My favorite is the guitar solo…I’m a sucker for a good guitar solo! I’d sure love an invitation to his next performance…either at home or in the studio! You’re a talented young man, Aidan :)
