We recently learned that Aidan is being recognized again for logging more reading hours than any other kid in his age group through the summer reading program at the library this year. He was proud, but we are trying to downplay the competitive side of it–reminding him that just having the opportunity to do all that reading is its own pleasure and reward. He gets it, but still likes the prizes (Legos this year like last). He’s read
over 550 library books since we’ve started counting (and we may have missed a few along the way).

What a wonderful way to raise your Son. Books will be a big part of his life I am sure.
Way to go, Aidan! Keep reading and learning!
