We made it home before too late–to avoid “amateur hour” on the roads–and toasted the actual turn of the decade over sparkling apple juice. This was the first year Aidan actually made it until midnight. He felt so grown up, and then crashed :-) Happy New Year!
happy new year!
This year we ventured away from home for New Years Eve and had a great time. Our relatively new but very good friends Heidi and Geoff along with their children Autumn and Clay invited us to their home for an afternoon of sledding and an evening of good eats, games, and conversation. Aidan had a great time. He must have climbed up that hill 200 times. Neither Chris nor I braved the cold to take any photos of him sledding, but once inside the house and after the hot chocolate thawed the kids out, we snapped a few.

Hi guys,
Happy New Year! You did better than us, we watched the ball drop in Times Square, and personally, I can’t attest to who else was asleep, but I know I didn’t stay awake ’til Midnight, and suspect no one else did either (maybe the cats). Anyway, we really enjoyed having you over. Again, I want to thank you for being so supportive through some rough days this past year. The difficult times in life can really shine a light on true friendship, and we feel we’ve seen clearly what wonderful people you guys are! I hope we can enjoy many more activities together in the new year. Geoff

Thanks, Geoff. Happy New Year to you too! You don’t have to thank us for support; that’s what friends do for each other. You can count on us, just as I know we can count on you. You’ve mentioned a couple of times how we all seem to be on the same page with some important things in life. I agree. I think we share many basic values regarding family, friendship, education, our earth, etc. I look forward to spending more time with you and your family in the years to come. –Mike

Your friends sound very nice and I’m sure it will be a long happy friendship. Happy New Year to them and their family also.
Keep the pictures coming, I really enjoy them.
